2 kg (about four pounds) salted, smoked, and cured ham
1 cup of water
2 peeled onions
Oven temperature: 200° Celsius/ about 400° Fahrenheit. Baking time: 1 and 3/4 hours
Buy salted, smoked, and cured ham without bones or remove the bones. In a covered pan cook at about 400° Fahrenheit in the oven. After 15 minutes add a cup of water and two peeled onions. After one and a quarter hours more, remove the cover and bake for another 15 minutes without the cover.
