Butter Board

By Dave St.

This recipe makes 6-10 servings at Way too many calories per serving

A Butter Board is rich and delicious option for pot lucks and larger gatherings.  It is highly adaptable to the ingredients you have on hand as well as the dietary preferences of your guests.  This recipe is simply one example to spark your own creative ideas.

A Butter Board is comprised of a platter with a base layer of a higher fat butter spread across the platter then topped with any number of ingredients.  My favorites are:

* Diced figs

* Sun-dried Tomatoes

* Fresh Basil

* Oregano

* Cracked Black Pepper

* Drizzles of Agave Syrup

Serve with torn pieces of fresh baguette.

Note: The butter board is not a good choice for warmer environments. You can help keep it cool by placing the platter on a bed of ice.

Have fun and experiment with your own toppings.
